Whether you're only in, on, or around the water in the summer, you live near the beach or have a pool, you want to swim for exercise or pleasure, already know the basics or are beginning anew, our Red Cross Learn-to-Swim programs and courses offers swim classes for people of all ages and abilities. Designed for all levels, classes allow swimmers to develop good habits in, on, and near water, become comfortable in the water, learn and refine new strokes, and become stronger, safer swimmers.

Learn-to-Swim for Kids
Our swimming classes for kids are tailored to the needs of each child, so that he or she can progress at a comfortable pace. And although some children may advance more quickly or slowly, our instructors ensure that everyone receives the instruction they need. In the Learn-to-Swim program, parents or guardians of children up to 5 years of age will actively participate in their kids' swim lessons. This not only helps increase the child's comfort level in the water, but can help parents understand the process and practice skills with their children between classes.

Learn-to-Swim for Adults
The Learn-to-Swim program allows swimmers to progress at their own pace, mastering one set of skills before moving on to the next. Swimming lessons for adults are available in the following three levels, developed to meet the needs of adult learners: 1) Learning the Basics: earn basic swimming strokes and skills needed to stay safe, and help keep others safe in and around the water. 2) Improving Skills and Swimming Strokes: Participants will gain proficiency in basic aquatic skills and the six basic swimming strokes. 3) Swimming for Fitness: Participants will learn to refine their front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and turns to build endurance. Our swimming lessons for adults include best-in-class instruction that can help you build your skills, and swim more efficiently. |
